Several more problems. I now have a much shorter expression (about 160 characters) which hangs wxmaxima as soon as I enter it. Thanks. That seems to work. I think I found the source of the hangs. It only seems to happen when I resize the window after loading the file. Resizing first and then loading the file avoids the problem. However I have the issue you found, namely that the %o132 is not bound to the result. This is surely a bug isn't it?

I have a set of simultaneous equations which, not surprisingly, took many hours for wxmaxima to solve. I saved the result and expected to be able to reload everything and continue. However it hangs when I reload it, possibly because it is re-evaluating everything. Is this expected behaviour and if so, is there a way to prevent it? Example attached.
