I am also having this exact problem.
Other things I notice that seem related.
The default settings for the perl editor seem to be missing.
When editing preferences under
eclipse->wndow->preferences->Perl EPIC
Selecting "Editor" results in a pop-up window the title bar
of which is labeled: Could Not Accept Changes", and the
