If it's "harmless", then it is possible to so something like:
(void) write(...);
just to STFU the compiler. It's mostly cosmetic changes.

In FF3 i can browse databases and files on the left pane. Right pane stays empty all the time. When I select directory or database in left pane, message appears "MediaTomb cannot be reached! Please check if the server is still running.". As I said earlier, right pane stays empty.
