Dear Thorsten, Thank you so much for your very helpful reply - we had been choosing filenames in the SR-DSP window.... We had noted the change from nc to vpdata My student tells me he cannot find "wizard" - any hints? Thanks again, Peter.

A follow-on question 1) autosave does not appear to increment the filenumber and just saves over the old files - is there a fix? 2) is it possible to open and plot saved files in gxsm? regards, Peter.
