the 1.4 release of autopkg.pl supports python's distutils packaging now, so python, perl and automake/autoconf packages should build now (tested with BitTorrent and that gnome-bittorrent mime-sink app thingy and its dependencies).
for the next release i'm thinking of adding the ability to bootstrap operating systems or at least support cross-compilers. they should technically work now but you...

it's been a long time since i've updated anything here, but i'm back. hopefully i'll find time to update releases of autopkg.pl and post more projects of mine; i've got a few noteworthy ones coming up like a simple Challenge/Response mail filter.
