I can't reproduce this error, but it may be corrected in the upcoming (3.4) release (on or about December 15th, 2008). Please check your system again with the new code and report back if the error persists. -TDC.

I agree that the error message is not helpful. To fix this, we would have to make major changes to the manner in which the psi3 driver responds to the error string in the psi.dat file. We won't be able to fix this in the upcoming release, but in the psi 4.0 system that we hope to release in 2009 or 2010, this will not be an issue. So, I'm going to mark this as "later". -TDC.

We are working on a 3.4 release for some time in the next three months. I am hoping that this will correct the problem you're observing on your system.
