Yes, I can confirm that this fixes the option key behavior under 10.6. Well, at least the +Esc key behavior. I'm not sure how to test the Meta setting, I never use it. I can also confirm that under normal it seems to work as expected, producing accented / special characters. Thanks for the patch!

There is a stack trace in the screenshot, it's centered on the last frame inside iTerm code. Or did you mean in some other format? I'm not sure exactly how to capture it. Any thoughts on the NSInputManager.wantsToInterpretAllKeystrokes change?.

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/6940/screenshot20090919at101.png That is a screenshot of a crash I had just now. The crash occured right after typing "exit" in a window that had been used for a few hours. As the comment says, it is iterating over PTYTasks to check for read events. I guess it may be checking on a PTY that is already deallocated or something like that. I'm also seeing weird...

I created and posted that same patch below. I don't think it's the cause of the crashing but I'm not certain. Someone said they applied the patch to the previous release's revision and the crashing went away but the Snow Leopard Option key problem was fixed. NSInputManager.wantsToInterpretAllKeystrokes was returning NO under 10.4 / 10.5. It started returning YES in Snow Leopard. This...

Thanks for check that and making an alternate available. I'm not sure why it expired, I thought it was set to one year. Here's another currently working link: http://drop.io/tbrbl0o That one includes the Option key fix plus a separate feature to enable a reverse video cursor.

  • Comment: Add option for reverse video cursor

Hi, I'm not an official iTerm dev but I hacked together an implementation of this feature for my own use and edification. The source code patch and a compiled copy of iTerm with it can be found here: http://drop.io/tbrbl0o Let me know if this does what you had in mind. Under Preferences -> Window check "Reverse the cursor colors." This overrides whatever cursor colors are set in profile...

I posted a really hacky fix for this in the patch tracker at ID 2857326. It's probably not the best way to fix the bug "for real" but it does seem to fix the problem for me and so far I haven't found any side effects. You can download an unofficial compile with this fix here: http://tinyurl.com/itermfix Hope this helps someone.
