  • Comment: Crackling sound

Bedouin, does that mean a code fix, or does that mean downgrading LibSDL to a particular version? Currently this defect is still open in Ubuntu launchpad at http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/widelands/+bug/80534. Please can you comment on launchpad so we can potentially close it (or not)?.

  • Suggest a zooming function using the mouse wheel

Currently the game seems not to have any use of the mouse wheel. A zoom function based on the mouse would be a good use of this control.

  • UI - Add a "Dont ask me again" to window close dialog.

When any window is closed in PD, a "Close this window??" dialog pops up every time. The suggestion is to add a toggle "Don't ask me again." to this dialog, and a preference to revive it to the PD menu should a user want to. This should be stored in the persistent preferences file.

  • Comment: Crackling sound

Should this therefore be reported as a bug upstream with SDL? Downgrading SDL is merely a bad workaround. Since you have the details sigra, could you report (or find a similar report) on this in the SDL list, and link it here? I would not mark this as closed until users are able to run this without the crackling, as a closed bug does not show up in the list of bugs, and the issue is still...

  • Music very Scratchy

On more than one system now, the music sounds very scratchy. I do not believe it to be my setup or hardware, as I am able to run tools like Amarok or even audio specific tools like Audacity without such issues. Going to the sound directory itself with ogg123 and playing ingame_00.ogg, intro_00.ogg and menu_00.ogg does not exhibit such scratchiness. So it is not the sound files themselves...

  • Transport Bar feature suggestion

Can I suggest using a bottom corner of the screen for a transport bar with icons for pause, play, speed up and slow down. I would also suggest the feature gets to be toggled on the settings screen.

  • Pause Functionality Not Found

When playing in single player mode (ie the tutorials), a pause feature did not seem to be mentioned anywhere (in fact no keys were detailed anywhere), and trying the usual ones like P and Pause/Break did not appear to do anything. Even when in the save game dialog, the game does not pause behind it. Can I suggest using a bottom corner of the screen for a transport bar with icons for pause...

  • Comment: A stable version

This is more a bug than a feature request. It would be more helpful to try and capture a stack dump/debug and post it when you see a crash. This is a normal bar to entry and you will see such reports attached to widelands bugs here - http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/widelands/+bugs.
