I have brand new laptop now (my old one died), so I will not see the problem most probably. You are right that the CPU didn't have enough power to handle all requests, but that was not my problem.
I do not care if the reaction is not immediate (for my occasional work it is sufficient), but I do care about the function - if you cannot press any of the Pad keys, because it freezes the pointer...

I can confirm that the odd behaviour always started with usbParse problems, which means something got ignored.

I really miss functionality of "skip all breakpoints", so I had a look why it doesn't work: When the breakpoint manager is disabled, all breakpoints should be skipped. The attached patch implements the idea.

The udev script generator (print-camera-list.c) outputs RUN, GROUP, MODE and OWNER rule independently on the output of matching rule part (PROGRAM or ATTRS). The result for template driver is all-matching udev rule:
GROUP="plugdev".

I've got related problem with 0.8.0 now: "usbParse: Exceeded channel count; ignoring.". The symptoms are the same as I remember them - when the pad key is pressed, the pen pointer stops working. I will attach the X log file.

I think we can close it for now as I didn't see the problem. Although, I didn't have much time to play with my tablet.

I didn't observe the problem during 20 minutes of drawing; I will do something bigger - hopefully this week. Actually lot of things changed from the time the problem was last observed: better kernel (new scheduler), new x.org, new Inkscape. So maybe the problem became hard to reproduce, but let's see.
Anyway, I would like to see 0.7.9-9 out, because the impossible keyboard event problem...
