Fair enough, but if people have to change how their code works to make it work in PyDev, that seems like a bug in PyDev to me. The fact you have a FAQ shows it happens enough to warrant addressing in some form. Why not address it once in PyDev rather than in n for m different users (so, n*m total)?.

When running a python application using the pydev runner within eclipse, raw_input() will add a trailing newline to all input. If run from the python console, no such newline is present. So, you end up with code that executes differently depending on how/where it is run.
