I have noticed that most of the free web hosting companies append a tracking code to all the responses that makes the AJAX response invalid and breaks everything. Please try on a descent web host.

Can you please check your PHP error logs and your browser javascript errors. It would be helpful if you could mention what browser you are using and where you are running MOHA Chat.
I managed to install on A Small Orange hosting. They use cPanel and it's shared hosting.
