Dear Joachim and Philippose, I apoligise for writing to much (and repeating some stuff), but here we go again: I don't want to step on sore toes here, but I dislike beating around the bush so I'll just say it; I would like any kind of feedback on my questions and my artifacts in the tracker. As work seems to go on with rather frequent submits to the SVN, it puts me in a more difficult...

cpptasks.jar was to large to attach; http://www.micket.com/cpptasks.jar.

  • Alternative buildsystem

Platform specific properties can be put in ${os.name}.properties This uses Apache Ant with the cpptasks module. It works without makefiles and configurescripts. It has so many advantages i dont know where to begin. The negative part is of course that it requires Java, but there is no need for it to replace the current buildsystem so it's all good.

  • Followup: RE: I'd like to become a developer

Joachim, since the build system is broken (se my bug report) i simply thought i had it turned off with --disable-parallel (but that only enables it with the current configure script). This caused me quite a bit of confusion. Philippose, it lags alot even for the simplest geometry just as much as a very dense mesh. The GMA card has full support for OpenGL 2.0, but of course, it can still be a...

  • Building both shared and static libraries

I wish to build both static and shared libraries, but just repeating the cc-task causes recompilation of all object files. (Perhaps there is a better way? I have been unable to find any examples that does this)

  • Corrections to the build system

I have written up a few points regarding the build system Please bare in mind that I dont have much experience with the autotools build system, and nothing here is necessarily the absolute truth. If I have misunderstood something or if someone disagrees I would appreciate it if I get corrected. I have written this with Debian as a basis when it comes to paths and such. Now on the the...

Regarding the segmentation fault when using the GUI; I just updated to the developement version and the problems has disappeared, no crashes. But i do have some serious issues with lag. Same for menus as for moving the view. The CPU-usage is overall small (no peaks).

  • Followup: RE: I'd like to become a developer

After looking through things a bit more, I've come to the conclusion that i'd like to work more closely on the library, leaving the GUI for now. Making a new GUI would of course not remove the old one either. I'll try to locate the segfault more closely. Right now i can give you the relevant output is *** glibc detected *** ./netgen: free(): invalid pointer: 0x00000000020e3d90 ***...
