    Thank you for your kind commentary. I too considered SWIG, but found the code it generated was just too nasty, and left a slightly clunky interface for a Python developer. PySDL isn't perfect, and I really should change the return codes of -1 on errors to throwing exceptions, but it does seem a step above SWIG generated code.   • Initial release

    PySDL 0.0.1 is now released. It provides access to the video and cd-rom subsystems' functionality. Work has begun on the event and audio subsystems, and some meaningful documentation is planned.
