  • Automatic language detection for Google Translate

The Google plugin should be able to instruct Google to automatically detect the language to translate from when using the 'translate' command. In this Google Translate web interface, that is achieved by selecting "Detect language" from the from-language box, while in the URL, this appears as a from-language called "auto".

  • Comment: ISBN support

Well, you forgot a category: old books with a non-standard barcode. For instance, I've got several paperbacks from the 60s (or so) by Italian publisher Mondadori, using an 8-digits code (the last digit is separated by a hyphen, I assume it's a checksum) and a barcode type that I can't recognize. I somehow suspect this isn't going to be of much use, but just for completeness' sake.

  • validate_checksum: Assertion `sum < 103' failed.

This is the official Failed Assertion Week, didn't you know? I've got: $ ./zebracam lt-zebracam: zebra/decoder/code128.c:249: validate_checksum: Assertion `sum < 103' failed. when trying to decode this: $ ./zebracam EAN-13:0028941985828 Feel free to close this one, as I can't really reproduce it, it only happened once in poor light conditions, but I thought I'd point it out...

  • Comment: Assertion `vbuf.offsets[i + 1] > vbuf.offsets[i]' failed.

This is weird. I tried qcset, and indeed "qcset compatible?" returns "dblbuf". Setting "qcset compatible=0" results in the failed assertions going away. However, zebracam then only shows a static image (of whatever the camera is pointing to when zebracam is started). On the other hand, camstream works, although the video is "skippy", as in, it seems to get stuck for a split second every...

  • Comment: Assertion `vbuf.offsets[i + 1] > vbuf.offsets[i]' failed.

Well, I'm looking at the output from 'camstream' (a random webcam viewer I have installed), and it goes: D: Using mmap(), size = 426240 D: mmap()ed 2 buffers. D: Initial image size = (176, 144) D:

  • Assertion `vbuf.offsets[i + 1] > vbuf.offsets[i]' failed.

When starting zebracam 0.4 using my Labtec webcam (046d:0870 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express), the program immediately exits with the error lt-zebracam: zebra/video/v4l1.c:170: v4l1_mmap_buffers: Assertion `vbuf.offsets[i + 1] > vbuf.offsets[i]' failed.

  • CTCSS encoding (and perhaps decoding)

I'm not even sure this would actually work with most PDAs, but it would be nice for PocketDigi to be able to generate CTCSS frequency tones, both alone (useful for PMR446 radios with no built-in CTCSS software) or together with the RTTY modulation. CTCSS decoding would keep it all "symmetrical", even though it's probably less useful than encoding.
