Can you try to copy the audiobook using a simple "cp" from a shell or drag&drop from the file manager? This would tell us if we are dealing with a problem in gtkpod/libgpod or a general limitation.

Loading libmp4v2.so instead should support future versions automatically. Thanks for pointing out this issue.
