However, if you take a moment to read the comments there, you will see that I have already applied the patch you linked to.
As for the compiler warnings, I appreciate the patch, but in this case the warnings will be better solved by eliminating the need for the comparisons. If you are interested, you can follow progress on that issue at...

While trying to investigate a playback issue (which is irrelevant to this report, except as backstory), I downgraded my installation of Rhythmbox from 0.11.5 to 0.11.2, to test if the issue would occur with the older version.
When I started up Rhythmbox 0.11.2, I was presented with this message:
