I'd prefer something quieter than the pop-up - especially if you really /don't/ have the font installed (e.g. under WINE). Maybe a crossed out virtual keyboard icon could be used with a tooltip explaining why it's disabled.

I guess my XML import problem was just because my pwsafe database had been added to by some later version of pwsafe at some point so pwsafe 3.08 couldn't export some newer field types properly.
Actually, I seem to recall there was a problem in 3.08 that was fixed in 3.08.02 and 3.09.
I have narrowed the problem down and have a workaround that works for me:

The trick of exporting to an XML file in 3.08 and importing in 3.17 never worked for me due validation errors. I'm going back to pwsafe-3.08 for now!

I have created a dummy database in pwsafe 3.08 that produces the runtime error when opened in pwsafe-3.17 after entering the pass phrase.
