I have reviewed the uddi4j code and can confirm that it is Thread safe, but I agree with you that this must be a Threading issue. The only way I can see this exception springing is if the FindQualifiers object that you pass in to the UDDIProxy.find_service() method is shared between Threads. The two characters mentioned are UTF-8 valid, other java compilers do not flag them as errors
so why does gcj?
