OK, it seems that I somehow downloaded the old version of vDos. I have seen numerous references to commenting lines out of config.txt, but the file we have installed has nothing to comment out - everything is already rem'ed out. Should I download from SourceForge?

Jos, I meant no offense and I did not get offneded when you asked me to read the doc (assuming that I did not). I should have stated that I read the doc many times clearly up front. Based on the forums, there might have been an update to DOSPrinter which now requires different syntax with a colon. Your documentation does not reflect the need for new syntax - that's all. Documentation and forums (https://sourceforge.net/p/vdos/discussion/printing/thread/80fc4b97/#d698/eacb) all shows no backslash, i.e. c:\vDos#lpt1.asc but the file location is in c:\vDos#lpt1.asc, so it makes sense and the first one does not. Jos, Printing.pdf document was read multiple times before I posted here. It happens to be outdated becasue it does not reflect the need to use ":" in statements. To simplify my main issue - what in this line: LPT1 = SEL:"@%windir%\system32\print.exe /D:LPT1 C:\vDos#lpt1.asc" casues "Could not initialize printer" error? Again, the print file "#lpt1.asc" exists and I can print it manually - just not from vDos.

Priting to Epson LQ-590 via the USB-to-parallel adapter (Windows print port is a virtual USB001). I tried all I could find on the forums and in the documentation to decrease the font size. After many attempts I ended up redirecting the printer to LPT1 and using this (took forever to get this syntax right due to never-ending "colon is...
