Now both wxMaxima and Maxima help works. Today I'll commit the current version to Gentoo under the name wxmaxima-19.02.2_p1. After a new official release will appear, the need in this _p1 hack will disappear, and I'll commit the package with its correct version number.

Gentoo saga continues... Now, when I do Help -> wxMaxima Help (or just press F1), Maxima manual is displayed. Debug messages are: 08:01:22 PM: wxMaxima help should be at /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima-19.02.2_p1/wxmaxima.hhp. 08:01:22 PM: Searching for maxima help file /usr/share/info/maxima.hhp 08:01:22 PM: Searching for maxima help file /usr/share/info/html/maxima.hhp 08:01:22 PM: Searching for maxima help file /usr/share/doc/maxima-5.42.1/html/maxima.hhp 08:01:22 PM: Searching for maxima help file /usr/share/info/maxima.hhp...

Thanks, now it almost works (but not quite). I renamed the version 19.02.2-DevelopmentSnapshot -> 19.0.2_p1 (again, according to Gentoo rules; _p1 means patchlevel 1, it could be _p1000 or whatever). wxmaxima finds and nicely displays maxima help. However, it does not find its own help. The debugging message says 11:43:28 PM: Error: Cannot open HTML help book: /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima-19.02.2_p1 The content of /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima-19.02.2_p1/ is AUTHORS.bz2 Autocomplete1.jpg Autocomplete2.jpg BatchImage.jpg...

I'm trying to update the Gentoo wxMaxima ebuild to 19.02.2. It works, but finds neither wxMaxima nor Maxima help files. According to the Gentoo policy (universally applied to all packages), wxMaxima help files are installed in /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima-19.02.2/; there are wxmaxima.hhp, wxmaxima.html and other files (BTW, what are .hhp files?). If I symlink /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima -> /usr/share/doc/wxmaxima-19.02.2, wxMaxima help is successfully found and displayed. Maxima help files are in /usr/share/doc/maxima-5.42.1/html/;...

Good news. I've recompiled asymptote with disabled libsigsegv support. I only wanted to see in gdb where exactly it segdaults. But instead asy with import three; started to work! So, the problem is in libsigsegv.

OK, I've re-compiled asymptote with -O0 -g and run it under gdb. But all I've got is (gdb) r Starting program: /usr/bin/asy t.asy [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". [New Thread 0xb4a1db40 (LWP 15289)] /usr/share/asymptote/three.asy: 2905.13: runtime: Segmentation fault [Thread 0xb4a21040 (LWP 15285) exited] [Inferior 1 (process 15285) exited normally] (gdb)
