that seems to be unicode related. You could add your encoding in the drpython source (drpreferences) for that? If it works, we can add the patch in the next Drpython release.

Should that patch go into drpyhton.py? Is that needed more times? One could read out the first line of current document (GetLine(0)) and compare it to the python path.

Do you have the same File opened two times in drpython? How does that happen?
If that is not the case, you can turn it of in Preferences => Document => [] Auto Reload.
