Sorry, but Quasar is right. The entire purpose of the Chocolate Doom project is to accurately replicate the original games, down to the bugs. There are many reasons other than fixing bugs for using a source port instead of DOSbox. It's unfortunate that the bug exists but it's outside of the scope of the project to fix it.
