What do you use Freeplane for? When I have a lot of thoughts and I want to organize them and see them all in one place. My own brain can't hold all my thoughts out to my mind's eyes as mindmapping software like Freeplane can with my body's eyes. :) Which alternatives do you know? Freemind, which is what I used to use, way back in 2006. Xmind Which advantages does Freeplane have? I guess I moved to Freeplane because Freemind stopped development. I don't quite remember why I switched to Freeplane What...

Hi there. It's been about a decade since I used mindmapping software. I was using FreeMind before. But now it seems that FreeMind is no longer being worked on. I'm using Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon. I have FreePlane 1.16.3 installed (from Mint repository) and I wanted to know how it compares with Vym. How do they differ? What are Freeplane's advantages over VYM? What are VYM's advantages over Freeplane? Is VYM based on Java too?
