Well, as for MIME types, if you add them (at least in Debian), those files will be opened with clamtk as first choice! (yes, once I couldn't open directories with nautilus anymore because of this!).. I don't know how other distributions handle this, though.
I believe it's safe for you to keep the associations, and for me to remove them from the package. (it's well possible that it's a Debian...

well, the patch I attached adds translation of "Recursive" to it and fr. Now fr has "Examen minutieux" for "Thorough", and this is the right translation. Where's upstream for fr.po? Isn't that you? :)

Hello,
please rename the po/clamtk.po template file to po/clamtk.pot : this will ease differentiation between the template file (*.pot) and the translations (*.po) -- while currently with *.po one also gets the template.
This is needed in my Debian packaging, since I'm currently patching also .po's, and need to regenerate them at buildtime.

a Debian user filed a bug because of a wrong translation in fr.po, and that lead to a patch of mine to add a "Recursive" checkbox in the main GUI. Please find the patch attached.

Sorry, the patch I forwarded also contained some more fixes: removing usual Linux files from the MIME types association, and fixing the Categories (you might not want to accept this one)

Hello,
the FreeDesktop.org standard now deprecates the Encoding field, since .desktop files now must be encoded UTF-8.
The Debian package I maintain already had this patch since a while, sorry for not forwarding it before.
