Once I actually got it installed, then I had some issues with the actual JSP files. I guess it was tomcat/jstl version related, but if
anyone ever gets any JSP tag library errors related to
retrieving a string from some nested choose/when/import
calls, probably it originates from the file /admin/index.jsp
edit that file and replace every (about 40) instance of
<c:import url...

It wasn't painless.
Firstly install mysql and mysql-server packages (for mysqld daemon)
The tricky bit was to make an opa.war out of the opa
subdirectory of the opa distribution.
You need to do this to avoid having to edit the tomcat/conf/server.xml file.
cp standard.jar opa/WEB-INF/lib
cp jstl.jar opa/WEB-INF/lib
mkdir opa/META-INF
cp opa.xml opa/META-INF/context.xml.
