What's happening?

Screen is blank

When I play a movie with the video connected to a separate monitor the play window is blank. How can I fix that? I'm playing on a Thinkpad running xp pro sp2. Playing on the Thinkpad screen works great. I can see on the separate monitor that the play slider is moving. I can see all the controls and the tool bar in Media Player Classic ver. 6.4.9.1.
