Currently OpenCPN will not display charts of different zoom levels quilted together as a seamless canvas. This would be helpful especially in areas where multiple chart scale resolutions are available.

Load GRIB files and allow the user to cycle through prediction time intervals either through clicking or through animation.
Display a minimal subset GRIB parameters of interest such as wind speed wave height isobars, etc.

The visible range of a lighthouse is shown on the chart canvas but it does not properly scale.
You can see this if you open up a chart then zoom out quite far, the circle showing the visible range will, at some point, be larger than the chart itself.

When the name of a waypoint is displayed on a chart it is sometimes garbled. This seems to happen on Fedora Core 9 x86_64, Gnome, with wxWidgets 2.8,.9. Initially the text is properly displayed, but after panning the name becomes garbled.
