Hey Terry, Well, I can offer you two things in the way of assurances that the software does not contain spyware, trojans, or other related nasties: 1) My word. -The word of a stranger off the net isn't worth much, so I always recommend exploring: 2) The source -You can always checkout the source code to the MsgHook.dll file (which handles the global hooks), as well as all the rest...

  • Followup: RE: dead?

Not so much dead as dormant. There really is no new feature that I feel a great need to implement. The only exception would be some sort of RSS input to the 'Special Strings', but that's been held up by the lack of a good RSS library being available, but maybe someone out there knows of one that I haven't found.

nifty configuration. Just so you guys know, one of the frequently forgotten features of ZMatrix is that you can save and load configurations to a CFG file. This is done from the File menu in the Configuration Dialog. So, if you wanted to, you could post the .CFG you used to create that effect. The .CFG file will record all your ZMatrix settings, but not things like which desktop...

  • Followup: RE: portability

Hey Chris, Unfortunately, the program isn't very portable. I've got no-one to blame but myself for that, but in my own defence, it was originally written with the mindset of "I wonder if this is even possible...", so I wasn't thinking to hard about portability. The graphics are rendered using Windows GDI, and much of the code depends on the idiosyncracies of the explorer...

  • Followup: RE: Matrix "Revolutions"

Hey Markus, I was hoping to do that, but I've just been too busy with work and other things. I've coded a couple of changes lately (they're checked into CVS if you're capable of building the source). As for when the next release will be available, I don't know the answer to that. Sorry folks. The work that pays the bills comes first. I don't want to be a lazy tyrant in control...

  • Status Update And Plans

Heya folks, I've been pretty silent as of late, so I thought I'd give a quick update to let people know that I'm still alive and well. After a flurry of activity around the release of the second matrix film, I've just let the code settle around the 1.5.2 version for a while. Despite the rapidly expanding bug/feature submissions, I'm reasonably satisfied with version 1.5.2. I do like...

  • Comment: Maintaining Streams Occluded By Windows

Logged In: YES user_id=435794 Hey arkanes, If you intend to work on this request, I suggest you have a look at the back buffer (HDC and HBITMAP in zsMatrix.{h,cpp}) that has been added as of version 1.5.0. This back buffer should make this task much easier to implement and not too CPU intensive... but I still think it should be optional. Basically, the program could be modified...
