  • Comment: Fixes compile error on certain GNU/Linux systems

If it works on your system, it's probably just a fluke in mine, then. I'm closing it.

  • Fixes compile error on certain GNU/Linux systems

On at least Ubuntu, both Intrepid and Hardy, and possibly other package-based Linux distributions, the following is required: 1. libspeexdsp-dev is required to compile. (The configure script will not detect that this library is missing) 2. After running the configure script, the following change needs to be made to the main Makefile: Find the line "LIBS = -lasound -lspeex -lvorbisfile...

Also, I tried the official binary; that doesn't work either.

  • Segmentation fault

Using fglrx release 2.1.7979 (Catalyst 8.9), Xorg 7.3, Debian/lenny version 2.6.26-5 (kernel version 2.6.26-1-686), and the rrootage package on the Debian package archive. With the above, rRootage segfaults at a few particular points. So far, I've found: 1. IKA mode 4A-3, after the enemy fires its first few bullets 2. PSY mode 1A-3, after the enemy fires its first few bullets...

I updated all of my packages today and Stepmania now works properly. I can only assume that the last time I updated packages something had a bug in it, which was fixed in the latest update. Strangely enough, Stepmania is still crashing after I close, but since it otherwise functions normally, I'm marking this bug closed.

That log had a lot of junk from the theme I was using, the default theme gave a cleaner output. So I changed the file. (Shouldn't matter anyway, but gives you an easier time, hopefully) File Added: log.txt.

No problem. Also, I reinstalled libsdl, and that didn't help. File Added: log.txt.

Okay, so today I tried a number of different things. 1. I tried switching from NewNOVAE alpha2 to the default theme. This did not help at all. 2. All of the .ogg files in Themes/default/Sounds play normally. 3. I tried downloading a new theme, installing it, and switching to that. This did nothing. 4. I tried downloading a fresh Linux binary and running it. It, also, had no sound.
