Great suggestion. I'm no longer spending time on Hobocopy, though, so this is going to have to wait until someone picks up development.

Thanks for the feedback. No one is doing active development on Hobocopy at this time, so I'm not sure when/if this bug will get fixed.

After the call to pBackupCompleteResults->QueryStatus(&hrBackupCompleteResults, NULL), there value of hrPrepareForBackupResults is checked instead of hrBackupCompleteResults.

Yes, this is likely due to the fact that you're on a 64-bit platform. I'll be updating hobocopy to have 64-bit versions before too long.

64-bit platforms are not currently supported. I basically need to recompile the code against the new system. Conveniently, I *just* bought a new 64-bit box, so I should be doing this before too much longer.

Hobocopy comes with help: run hobocopy /help. But that's somewhat sparse, so I'm not surprised if it's not obvious what's going on. Perhaps an example will help.
Let's say that I have a file foobar.pst that lives in directory C:\data\mail and I want to make a copy of it into the directory C:\backup\mail. To do that, I would run
hobocopy C:\data\mail C:\backup\mail foobar.pst

Is d:\backups a file or a directory? I believe the /statefile option wants a path to a file.
