Are the protein subunits actually different? Would there be examples of GPs annotated to 1 complex and not the other... I think this is just over-curation.

I just disagree that this should be captured by go. Including dimerization status and the excreable "protein binding".

I guess I was thinking of viral capsids which are isocahedral. There are certainly dodecamers (Glutamate synthase often 2xhexamers). But there is lots of useful and interesting information about proteins and protein structure that is not and should not be captured in GO (IMO). Stoichiometry is especially bad, because it is so condition dependent.

All these stoichiometry terms should be removed. Are you going to go all the up to homododecamerization? isoconamerization (20)?.
