Allowing the user to arbitrarily request source and view it is a huge security liability in spite of best design efforts.
In many cases, it may also expose code that the site designer does not want made visible.
The default behaviour should be to have all URLs display without the query string.

I use a window manager that which displays other tray icons at an acceptable size: gnome.
I sincerely doubt this is gnome's fault, other programs don't seem to have problems with keeping icons at a sane size.

I love the tray icon addition, and it is exactly what I was hoping for!
One slight problem:
The icon dwarfs all the ohters in my tray! It's far too huge.
I think if you need a baseline, work off of the icon size for Gaim, they seem to strike the perfect balance.
This also includes the amount of spacing between the tray icon and others in the tray. Some have better spacing than others.
