Problem of uploading webpages to sourceforge sidestepped -
you can close this support request. I have changed the home
page to a site external to sourceforge. The problem itself was

I simply created htdocs directory in my root dir having
connected to the shell project area and posted my webpages
in htdocs - note the path was given by the SSH program
(/home/users/a/ac/academictalk/htdocs)

new project registered (academicTalk) and I want to set
it up and upload source and program files. It seems
there must be standard procedures and I haven't found
them yet.
I have a SSH client and I could upload files to my site
area which is empty at the moment...
