It’s been another month and the project statistics are out; and they aren’t very promising. Aciqra is down by 200 downloads from January and Caditor doesn’t look much better. With luck, we should maintain this if not improve for the month of March.
Nonetheless, development on both projects are still going strong. Hopefully, the next releases of each will trigger a rush of users like Aciqra 1.0 and Caditor 3.1.
Development is beginning on the new release of Caditor 3.3 set to be released on Memorial Day, 2009. Features are currently being planned out and suggestions are welcome. Expect to see new themes to appear in this release.
The next release of Aciqra, version 1.1, is to be released in early April of this year. New features in this release will include a new set of icons, support for custom deep sky objects, constellations, and will show the disks of the 5 planets visible without optical aid. Star names have been decluttered and show only the major stars at default field.
More updates will be released as features are implemented. To keep up with the latest on the project, please take a look in Subversion: http://aciqra.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc
