This was still an issue for me in 4.7.1 My server is nginx/php-fpm which apparently has buffering issues, affecting the ajax call. I solved it by: adding header('X-Accel-Buffering: no'); to adminer/include/design.inc.php function page_headers() removing the test in function stop_session in adminer/include/functions.inc.php to ensure session_write_close() is always called. I hope this is useful.
I think this means the Ajax call isn't happening? (Firefox network console)
Thanks for the response. You might want to know that the query timeout doesn't seem to work in my case: here is a screenshot from the process list showing a counting query at 99 seconds (different database than my earlier example of course). Please let me know if I can help diagnose.
I am using MySQL version: 10.0.20-MariaDB-log through PHP extension MySQL and PHP Version 5.6.11
SELECT executes unnecessary COUNT(*) query
