still an issue, however i find that the issue lies with the desktop enviornment, when i run gnome or kde i don't get this problem... but since i use cinnamon, lxde, or xfce (no longer even install gnome or kde) this is ALWAYS an issue. Input method does nothing to fix the issue, Running Debian 9.2 (Stretch) AMD64 (perhaps the issue is 64-bit related?)
