Quick update: locales=en_US.UTF-8 keyboard-layouts=en_US set root=(hd0,1) #To omit the (hd0,1) on the loopback line I've added symlinks to make upgrading easier. The 1GB partition on the second drive now contains only: rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 340M May 12 12:44 clonezilla-live-20210127-groovy-amd64.iso lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 May 12 12:54 clonezilla-live.iso -> clonezilla-live-20210127-groovy-amd64.iso -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 390M May 10 17:29 gparted-live-1.3.0-1-amd64.iso lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30...

Unzipped the CZ files into it. Added a clonezilla directory to the main machine EFI partition/dir and put the efi files into it. Used efibootmgr to add the CZ entry (for fun really, not actually needed because I'm booting from grub, but now I get "Ubuntu" and "Clonezilla" as boot options from the bios)...
