The good news is that I learned something about EFI. EFI is very user friendly. I mounted my EFI system partition under a second OS that I had on this particular computer. After some guesses, I manually copied the right boot loader to the right place and was able to recover my system.

I am perfectly aware that Windows caused the boot loader problem. Windows does not cause the "can't scroll" problem. Frankly, Veracrypt has been this way for many years. For some reason I was always able to restore my bootloader, but not this time. I cannot decrypt either. Already tried it. I run into the same problem. I cannot see the prompts.

Thanks for the help. That didn't get me going. I tried it twice in case I flubbed my password entry. My rescue disk seems to want me to pick a volume even though I choose option 'v'. This is a photo of my display after selecting 'v'.

Windows update buggered my boot loader. I cannot use the rescue disk because the menu prompts scroll off the bottom of the screen. I am pretty sure I am being prompted, but I cannot read the prompts. For example, If I choose option r), a list of disk drives runs off the bottom of my screen and I have no idea what keystrokes are needed next. Also, the rescue disk text file instructions are not precisely correct. I followed them to the letter. Nothing happens. Presumably there is some additional keystrokes...
