If you downloaded 24.6.1 prior to about 13:30 EST on 2 June 2024, you may haver gotten incomplete release files. It was really late and I was using a new compiler and experimenting with a build for macOS and made some mistakes in my build script that lead to some files being left out of the archives that got uploaded. This has since been fixed and fresh release files added to the folder.

Starting today, 20 April 2022, I'm re-basing the project on yt-dlp. youtube-dl itself seems to have died. Updates became very slow after github took it down, and though there have been one or two updates since the project was reinstated, development seems to have stagnated, so I've decided to re-base the project on a fork of youtube-dl named "yt-dlp". It seems to function very similar to youtube-dl, in fact, literally all I had to do was rename any references to youtube_dl when importing and calling...

I accidentally uploaded an incorrect copy of the README file for the December release. The checksums were valid, but I accidentally copied and pasted the changelog from a different project I was also working on at the time. This does not affect any of the packages because none of them contain this specific readme file, it is only created for SourceForge to display when you go into the "Files" area so that users can see the changes and checksums before they actually download anything. If you were...

While testing the update today I noticed something. While DNS resolution works correctly, it also appears that it is making a DNS request with every packet sent instead of making one query and then storing it. For that reason, when possible, try to target IP addresses when you can instead of hostnames because you may actually nuke your DNS server (a PiHole in my case) instead of the actual device you're wishing to target, or because of the back and forth that has to take place to resolve the hostname...

From now on I'm not going to be making new "Changelog" topics in the Discussion area. I'll just be adding a README.txt to each release folder with the changelog summary. It will also contain the SHA512 checksums of each file to help you check the integrity of your download in case you're using a flakey internet connection or something. If you don't have a way to verify checksums already, I have another project on Sourceforge called "PyCheck" that can help you out. https://sourceforge.net/project...

This is mainly just a maintenance update. 14 November 2020 Marcus Dean Adams (gerowen@pm.me) - Updated youtube-dl to v2020.11.12 - Removed variables that changed path to images depending on whether installed or not. Images will always be referred to using a relative path now, since I'm no longer using the home-made install script and we know that the images should always exist in the same directory as the executable. - Corrected the "contact me" dialog with my correct e-mail address. - Added a "DONATE"...
