It's more correct to check only the .c files. But provide include paths with -I so your .h files are included. unusedStructMember false positives are expected if you check .h files directly instead of including them.

I don't know exactly why it does not work for you. But it works for me. I can check Cppcheck source code if I create a GUI project file that imports the cppcheck.sln file and use option --project=test1.cppcheck on the command line.

hmm I am thinking that we could try to warn about the macro instead. You will get a warning in the header instead. How is TIM_TypeDef and TIM1_BASE defined?

We used to have a IRC chat channel at freenode. That was nice. But freenode has been down for years. I think it would be nice to see some users and developers in the #cppcheck channel on libera.chat. Please feel free to join it. If you don't want to install an IRC client it can be accessed in a web browser: https://web.libera.chat/

You can try on the new VM here if you want: http://16.170.133.133/timeline I am not sure if I will execute the move to this VM but right now it seems to me that it works a lot better. EDIT: consider this to be a "playground" instance more or less. If we can get https://trac.cppcheck.net up again we will not move..
