Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. As requested, I have experimented, and I have discovered that MaxLauncher DOES behave properly. The supposed problem arose this way: For many years, I used two identical monitors on my computer, and shifted MadappLauncher between them. Then, about the time MaxLauncher came out, one screen failed, so I replaced it with a spare screen from the back shed - which was, however, non-identical. And thus started the problem.
