#216 spell messages and display/showdmg bugs?

I seem to sometimes see
"The boulder is vaporized"
or
"The door is consumed in flames"
but I still see the boulder or door until
I move. It seems to require something in the way,
like a monster.

Also, the showdmg messages sometimes seem weird,
particularly under the sigil of discharge. They
sometimes seem to happen before the message describing
the damage occurs, or without any accompanying message
at all.

I'm marking this bug as fixed as I have been able to fix the
first reported bug (Slow screen update on vaporizing
boulders). I've also added sokoban guilt for this case,
which seems to have been missed previously.

The second part (Slow screen update on hitting doors with
eg., wands of fire), I have not been able to reproduce and
since the bug was submitted anonymously I will leave it
    there.

Notes: If you get the message about the door being consumed
in flames you should always see the correct new symbol
(doorway). You won't see the correct symbol if you couldn't
see the door (the symbol on the map being only a memory),
but in this case you would get a different message (eg.,
    "You smell smoke.").

As to the last part (showdmg message wierdness): This is an
unfortunate consequence of the fact that this is an add-on.
To fix the problem completely would require major rewriting
of the code (which introduces uncessesary incompatibility
with vanilla NetHack). I'm happy to consider specific
oddities on a case-by-case basis, but in general the answer
is that these won't be fixed.

Notes: Perhaps we could justify this by saying that you
don't always notice the damage being done at the most
appropriate time. A little weak, perhaps.
