For e.g.
draw label "$x/y$" at 3 3 cm
gri draws the "x" in italic, then switches to roman for
the "/" and then goes back to italic for "y". This
positions the "/" too close to the "x", in my view.

The version of Gri at the CVS site has been changed and no longer
suffers from the bug you've reported.
Please note that the version number of Gri has NOT been updated;
that is, no new release has been made. However, you may get the
most recent copy using the CVS system, at the URL
