It must be possible to use an existing database.
The user must be able to choose if he wants to use an existing db or if the existing db should be dropped and a new one is created.
Install script can't use an existing DB, as data will be messed this way.
conn.php and params.php are created in the end of the installation according to the new data.

and in both installations - the one you are using currently and the one after this installation attempt.
And also the permissions of the following file in both installations:
/admin/inc/conn.php
And could you try the following, please - try a new clean installation but in the beginning delete the /admin/inc/conn.php file and after the installation tell me if it is working now.

The problem is related with some permissions on your server, I have tried this on several pc's and the conn.php is updated without any problems

and please make also shure that the db name and db user is inserted to the conn.php
otherwise it has always have to be made manually.

conn.php doesn't accord to the new data. it always has to be changed manually. please fix.
