Banner can hang when called form custom page

The Banner plug-in can hang when it's called from a custom page's creator function or any other function called directly from the message loop. That's because it blocks the message loop and waits for messages on another thread. That thread handles the Banner window itself which is a child of the installer window. Because it's a child, it might send messages to the parent. If those aren't processed, it's a deadlock.
