Not a bad idea, but given that the user could use Advanced Normalisation to achieve this (albeit with more work than just doing it automatically), I don't think that it's worth making the reasonably significant changes that would be required to implement it.
I think the effort would be better spent in making our HTML normaliser better so that these errors do not happen in the first place.

The EXIF and XMP metadata is extracted from the TIFF file and included in the normalised file.

Tested in Testing Branch - Xena 4.3.14.
Ran text file through Xena containing the full set of standard and extended ASCII character sets. File normalises OK and I can view and export normalised file.

Tested in Testing Branch Xena 4.3.14. HTML Plugin 2.4.7, Plaintext plugin 3.4.2.
PDF, DOC and ODT converted OK. Special characters are not being converted to HTML character codes.
However, Xena is still adding non-printing characters (carriage return:
) to the text
version of a normalised Notepad or Word-created text file.

Re-tested in Xena Testing Branch 4.3.14. CSV plugin 2.2.2b10 and plaintext plugin 3.4.2b10.
All text files normalised OK. Can view and export normalised files.
