  • THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD HARD UNPAID WORK. WSJT-X v 2.4 rc4 gives me an error message intermittently. "Rig control error Do you want to reconfigure the interface? " Yaesu FTdx1200 (worked fine before). The QSO is not lost if I say yes and then just go on. The program serves an excellent purpose (probably unplanned and unexpected) the publications should include the benefit to a ham caregiver with a sick person who must be heard but not hear a speaker. Someone who has the knowledge that escapes this 80 year-old brain needs to update the documentation I can find with user-oriented info. I have had questions from hams who thought they should be using "Hound mode" . In the WSJT-X portion of your site please list other sites which may be 90-day wonder or 80 year old USER oriented. Again; THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD HARD UNPAID WORK. Pat W5THT P.S. Rating numbers to the right don't seem to work.
  • Too good not ot give it a try
  • Solid code and features. Keeps experimentation in amateur radio in the forefront.
  • I had been off the air for 21+ years because of hearing problems. WSJT-X gave me the capability of working others with the volume off, which got me back into hamming. Thanks Joe! Also, the program is an outstanding example of great software. Bill, AA4M
  • Excellent software. A1 Would love to contribute somehow (translation, new features, ...) Patrice VE2PTB/VA2PK
  • WSJT-X is an amazing way to make the most out of a signal. I have not worked Australia on Phone or CW since the solar cycle bottomed out. On Field Day this year keeping our distance outside in the woods up a Cerro Noroeste in California, an Australian station appeared, was worked on the second try, and gave me a +6db report. Their signal was at +7. We were using about 75 watts. I am unaware of what they were using. Here are some comments after working a couple of Field Days. Why does WSJT-X insist on throwing out the audio configuration if I happen to forget to turn the radio on when the program is started? Why not ask the operator first. It does complain about radio control and ask if your config needs to be changed. That's fine, just don't make it harder by altering the audio configuration first. Operators may be unaware that out in the field their laptop clock is drifting. Some stations are appearing late after several stations have decoded. This causes the list of stations that have been decoded to change position at the last second, causing the operator to select the wrong station. Is there a way to indicate after say 250 to 500ms, don't display additional stations? Something that can be configured maybe? If configured for Field Day or VHF contest, maybe another checkbox to filter non FD or non VHF contest stations? We have one now for CQ only and that is great. We just need to make sure we avoid those stations that choose not to participate in the contest.

  • Using windows 7 home in ft8 mode been getting unkown errors with a number group 181226_054145.wav Also have not been able to get the rig control in the program to connect to my kenwood 480sat. But I do like the newest update you just released. Rob Hamros Kb9rnb
  • Have been a long time user of WSJT-X. The new rc5 version is more difficult for my old eyes. Prefer the font be changed to BOLD or slightly larger size. This is especially important for the many new background colors displayed. Otherwise, like it a lot. Thank you.
  • win 10.HP wois not work.
  • Very interesting to conduct propagation studies
  • Excellent program. Would like to see the check box for locking the transmit/receive together come back. Would also like to see a save configuration. So if you have a problem you can upload a working configuration without having to re enter.

  • Great software. I just wish it would get ported to run on iOS. It would be amazing to be able to run this from an iPhone for SOTA & field day. Please add this new mode: WSPR/APRS. More info on this mode can be found here: aprs (.) org/aprs-wspr.html If the WSJTX app were updated to act as both a WSPR/APRS beacon transmitter as well as a WSPR/APRS iGate then hams could reliably share their positions while in the back country or during an emergency.
  • Wow! Great software for me as HAM. All credits to the developers and of course K1JT. I love the FT8 mode. Quick and love the auto-sequence mode. Please notice an issue when no rig is connected... The software keeps me telling this after a random time, there is no rig connected, with a new popup screen :). I control a TS50 with DTS by FTDI serial port on COM4. Working fine! The alert window: Rig Control Error Do you want to reconfigure the radio interface? I need to click on RETRY or OK. When I click CANCEL, the application closes completely. But the notification is a bit dirty and switches off the TX process. WSJT v1.80 r8193 Windows 7 (virtual parallels)
  • installed latest 1.8 version and it does not populate the TX message boxes when clicking on a call sign where there is no grid, partial grid or anything after the senders call sign. Some stations do not send grid info like KC4AAA Ant or a mistake like SV2ASP - will not populate. Call signs like 3XY4D or 3DA0AQ have everything after the 13th character cut off when sending. DX stations using the shortcut RR73 have the auto message jump to the signal report message box not to the 73 message box
  • It does not work for me. My Mac OSX is older software and can not run on OS 10.7.5. So sad. I can not rate it as I can not run it. //...
  • Briliant software with great team behind it
  • Amazing software, great work ! It started a new era in ham radio. EME, MS, topband DX can now be done with modest equipment thanks to WSJT. Also a great tool to study propagation.

  • All Joe's modes are just great and make QRP with small antennas possible. Now FT8 mode has been added, which has a much faster turnaround, and which I start to use a lot with my Flex-6500 SDR transmitter. This new mode makes it possible to get a lot of contacts with the current poor condx. Adding a digital software in development to a radio, which also is in development is a wholly new experience!
  • Still missing some prefix for USA from W0 to W9 any way to enabled it ??
  • Love, Love, LOVE this release! It has all the things I wondered would ever come. I use it for WSPR-2, and the scheduler is fantastic. Obviously a lot of thought went in to it. Further, the two pass decoding is amazing. I see two stations on the same frequency commonly, and even had one station 20dB stronger than another just 1 Hz away, with both successfully decoded. The rig control was a breeze, and setup was simple. Hats off to the developers!
  • WSJT-X v1.6 Very happy to see the addition of WSPR-2 mode to the WSJT-X software. The new decoder works extremely well with WSPR reception. The only problem I have encountered so far is the CAT control for SDR rigs,( I operate a Flex 1500/ OS is Windows 7),even though I have a green indication for Cat status, it will not band-hop without giving an "hamlib error". Hopefully, the team will address this issue in time. Thanks for a great software package John KC4RSN
