In v3.8, journals/periodicals as 'collections' are automatically created when you create the first article in that journal. Currently, series are not collected separately but this will change in v4. while there are no collections of books (i.e. series in v3.8), books themselves can be collection in which book chapters are maintained.

Hi,
I think the file type detection in wikindx is quite basic and works on the extension. If the original file upload is not xxxx.pdf then you may well have this problem.

I have a strange problem with attachments in my Wikindx3: *some* .pdf will appear as garbled heap of signes when opened in a browser. I looked into the database and found that the 'file Type' was set to text/html instead of application/pdf. But I have no idea, how this has happened. Other .pdf attachments open correctly.
my wikindx version is 3.8.2, it's running with apache 2.2 on a linux...
