The C500 works without macam or other driver in Skype 2.8.0.722. In iChat 5.0.1 (743) or Photobooth 3.0.1 (117), the camera is recognized and produces video, but the image freezes within about a minute or so. Closing and reopening the shutter unfreezes the video, but it just freezes again shortly.

Turn off macam application.
Open skype.

I installed macam on two mac minis. One running Leopard, the other Snow Leopard. The 9,2 application identifies the camera (Phillips SPC 700NC) correctly on both machines. When I press play I get the "USB Connection Problem" message.

I have a Quickcam for Notebooks Pro 860-000026 on a Sawtooth upgraded to 1.8MHz /1G and a NEC Chip USB 2.0 card.
Skype works fine when plugged into USB 1 port, but not on USB 2 ports. It will quickly display partial shots from camera and spit shots in quick succession but never settle down into a usable shot.
Suggestions?.
