I did some looking and pango_font_map() is not found anywhere in wcalc sources. It looks to me like libpangoft2 is what has the reference to pango_font_map_create_context. I looks to me that you somehow have a mismatch between what your libpangoft2 was compiled against and what it can find now in terms of pango.

With some combination of input parameter wcalc just hangs.
Please see the screenshot for one configuration that hang with wcalc-stdio, the mex plugin and also the cgi fontend. (current version of wcalc-stdio wcalc-mex and for the cgi the sourceforge page)
If you can not look to it the values (hopefully all) as text:
